The intelligent DesigN and Art Research Group
Vision
Spaces for us are living things comprised of natural skins and structures, that sense and interact; we believe that they must be intelligent.
Intelligence, in our view, is not limited to sensing and behaving. We believe that "intelligence" lies in the communications/interactions that happens between intelligent things and their environments, i.e., be able to change and adapt. Intelligence is also the poetic expressionism envisioned by Ruskin, Hugo, and Bataille, and it is a Hegelian Phenomenology, we call it a Science and Art of Experience and Interaction.
In an increasingly ubiquitous computing society, we are looking for developing a new architecture that provide a new etiquette for us, to make life easier and adaptable - toward a native "interactive systems".
We believe in shaping reality, by making it intelligent and responsive to our needs, and accordingly to have valuable experiences.
Pearls Within Pearls
In our endless hope city, the walls continue beyond their physical limits. "With no doubt, we can't tell where they start, or where they end ... they are continuously moving walls!," Sara said to us. "I agree, they are going on and on forever, they never stop changing the essence of the endless city," John continues. "Are we in the wonderlands? where we have an infinite number of black holes," Martin asked. While Sara continues to watch the wall, she answered, "sure," "but the endless city goes beyond the virtual worlds of the wonderlands to the physical and multi-sensorial and phenomenological aspects of spaces, the walls are loci of human-space connections, literally they are 'intelligent interfaces' " .
"The walls as we imagine are art pieces, they are walls within walls, pearls within pearls, lands within lands, and shores within shores," iDNA team states. "The walls are responsive to our movements, as if we walk in front of the Atlantic coast or the Mediterranean Sea, but in a fast motion, it is like a film that not only opens possibilities, but also leaves the earth, to make us think creatively and get us away from our boring daily environments," Martin talks to the iDNA team.
"The ceiling is not much different than the walls of hope,"John enthusiastically said. "The ceiling does not only grasp our imaginations and thoughts to their changing and sensory attitudes, but they also form the celestial cover which are endless and phenomenal," John continues. Sara moves through the pages of the endless hope, she can not imagine the beauty of the dancing table or the moving cups, and the speaking mirror. If that all is not responsive enough, let me show you the fluid space, endless hopes and endless arts and endless beauty is what the fluid space can tell us. "We are really in the physical wonderland," Sara said.
The Pearls within Pearls is an open platform that can be used for educational, recreational, and social settings. The projects we design and construct range from small scale art works, furniture, and toys to large scale walls, installations, small scale spaces, and buildings' skin and armature. Pearls within Pearls are interactive systems that tell a story; interactive human-centered design- and art- works; and systems that "impose silence" and "makes one talk".
